I try to track various quotes of mine in the press and have set up a Google Alert to do this. Today, these came in (all in the same alert):

If you use Google Alerts, then you know that the headlines and links are provided. I deleted them because it is clear there is something going on here. They are all blog entries, and they all seem to be extremely poor translations of this article, which came out quite in 2004:

So, the question is, what is the end-game of putting all of these bad translations out on blogs? Could it be a mechanical turk onslaught intended to increase the presence of the online magazine? Maybe a landing point for drive-by downloads (not much of a draw…)?
