Deep Nines has apparently been successful in defending its patent in court – a jury awarded them $18m from McAfee. It seems like there was a bit more than infringement here – the initial press release indicated that McAfee was claiming that it owned a similar patent. That said, I can’t help but wonder whether this will give the UTM market new meaning…
