I find this article by George Heron, Chief Scientist for McAfee absolutely bizarre. I feel bad for McAfee’s employees – the company is acting like its on its deathbed (I assume this isn’t true, but wow).
It sounds like McAfee (and Symantec’s) big beef is that if/when their products fail to detect malware before it infects a system, it may be able to bypass PatchGuard and turn off their software, which, need I remind you, was "bypassed" to begin with.
Kudos to Kaspersky for moving on with their lives and developing a solution to meet the needs.
