Just read Kaspersky’s blog on Harvard’s Stop Badware site. I can get into peer pressure. After all, one of the problems with “badware” or “malware” or whatever is that every person’s definitions are different. (Yes, I know it can be more than this, but I’ll leave it here.)
The posting also reminded me that I had intended to write about the ThreatCode site. While it may be better referred to as VulnCode (annoyingly anal, aren’t I?) I like the idea of publishing a Hall of Shame for admin privilege abuse (this is a perennial problem) and non-support of patches.
Pass it on… let’s see just how important these issues are to the rest of the world…(it may be hard to boycott an O.S. but applications don’t pose the same problem.)
