Behavior Privacy vs. Identity Privacy

Adam Shostack wants our border guards (and others responsible for checking ID) to validate our behavior instead of verifying identification, and make a qualitative judgement call on whether it is appropriate or not. I find this intriguing, given that my perspective of Adam is that he is extremely worried about people being evaluated for, well, their behavior.

So I don’t get which is more important – maintaining anonymity by ensuring others don’t check ID or maintaining anonymity by not having people who should be checking ID meddling with your activities.

I personally don’t believe someone else should be judging my behavior, as long as I belong here. Strange that Adam would be perfectly willing to judge others with absolutely no information.
