Jason Calacanis has quite the justification for employing a felon. The professional skeptic in me interpreted it as superficial admissions immersed in irrelevant distractions standing in for valid justification.
On the other hand…. it is tempting to want to be compassionate, but there are so many times we've seen social engineers and serial liars sell these stories just as well that it is hard to know whether we are being played. And at this stage (post conviction) trying to make exceptions is extremely difficult.
I don't think the justification made me feel any better. Too many caveats to it (e.g. I am not comforted by the notion that he could have done a lot more damage than he did).
