The Marin Independent Journal has a story about a community website that got hacked. Actually, I guess its scripts were used to send offensive or inappropriate greeting cards. The owner and operator of the site has taken it down as a result. I am not sure why this "hacking" keeps the site from operating, but that is the owner’s decision, of course. A choice bit of the article:
Despite the harassment he has endured, Nayer said he is willing to forgive the hacker as long as the attacks stop and he is allowed to put the site back online.
"If they promise to stop doing it I wouldn’t press charges," he said.
I know it’s the season and all, but I guarantee this person is doing similar things to other sites.
