So I was reading the Computerworld blog the other day via Newsgator for Outlook (my newsreader of choice) and up pops a post that says this:
http://feeds.computerworld.com/~r/Computerworld/Blogs-Security/~3/91132364/4599
As I read this article, "Security expert: Make vendors liable for bad code," by Todd R. Weiss, I found had to agree with Bruce Schneier. If software vendors were forced to assume liability like credit card companies are when it comes to fraud, software quality would improve. It’s no surprise that security holes come from bad design, poorly implemented features, inadequate testing and security vulnerabilities from software bugs. The time, effort and money we spend on security is simply to deal with the effects of insecure software.
Of course, since I recently posted my disagreement on the topic, I was curious to see who else besides Mr. Schneier was wrong about it. Except I get a Page Not Found error.
Whoever it was must have had a change of heart. Chalk one up for the good guys.
Pete- Wishful thinking that they reconsidered and now agree with you. I had the same thing happen to me on two comments I made on ComputerWorld articles as well. They must be doing something changing the URLs. Anyway, I was able to find the content at a different URL by searching the web site

@Alan -
Hmmm, I did search the site and it appears to be a Douglas Schweitzer post (who likes to yell !!!). Still can’t find the post itself.
Actually, I think even the vocal minority agrees with me on this one. There aren’t many believers in sw liability.
